Thank goodness that the documentary and history reveal another powerful set of choices we can commit to. We can choose to challenge anyone who tells us that our brother or sister is an enemy. We can choose to oppose all oppression; even we do not experience it as our own, we can open our hearts and find a connection. Most importantly, even when we disagree, we can grow in strength as a community by choosing to embrace one another in unconditional love.
Communication is a key to strengthening community. So, in honor of Anti-Gun Violence Month and in the support of LGBT Pride 2014, my office is sponsoring two events.
